Job Description

About the Company

Robotic Imaging is hiring a Director of Facility Assessment to lead the quality assurance layer on our national retail facility survey program. We provide facility survey and asset documentation services for national commercial clients — laser scanning, VR capture, BIM modeling, and utility documentation. We’re building PropertyFlow, a SaaS platform that turns facility condition data into automated cost estimates at scale. This role is central to making that platform credible with enterprise FM teams.

About the Role

You would review completed VR scans, field photos, and survey data from your desk in our Miami office and validate the condition scores that drive our cost estimates. You’re the QA layer between raw field data and the client deliverable.

Responsibilities

  • Review 30–50 store surveys per week via VR scans and photo documentation
  • Validate condition ratings for roofing (membrane condition, flashing, ponding), HVAC (unit age, tonnage adequacy, equipment condition), and parking lots (PASER scoring, striping, ADA compliance)
  • Confirm or override scope recommendations before cost estimates are finalized
  • Flag edge cases for specialist review (structural roof issues, complex HVAC retrofits, full lot rebuilds)
  • Travel to high-value or disputed sites for in-person verification (~10–15% travel)
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to refine assessment standards and decision thresholds
  • Put your name and credentials on the deliverable — you are the professional stamp that gives our clients confidence

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in commercial facility condition assessment, building inspection, or facilities management
  • Direct experience evaluating roofing systems (built-up, modified bitumen, TPO/PVC, metal), commercial HVAC (rooftop units, tonnage calculations, ASHRAE fundamentals), and parking lot/pavement condition (PASER or PCI methodology)
  • Background in retail, restaurant, or multi-site commercial portfolios (national rollout experience strongly preferred)
  • One or more of: IIBEC (RCI) certification, ICC Building Inspector, ASHRAE-certified, Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent state license
  • Comfort working with VR/360 scan technology — you’ll be walking stores virtually, not physically, for the majority of reviews
  • Prior experience at firms like CBRE, JLL, Cushman & Wakefield, EMG, Partner Engineering, AEI Consultants, or similar
