Motivated Floor Manager for Fine Dining Restaurant
Searching for a motivated Front of House Manager with Fine Dining experience to take a hands-on roll managing a professional and hospitality driven, award winning, fine dining restaurant in an historic atmosphere with a small bar, 80 guest seats, 40-50 person banquet space and boutique 8-suite hotel.
Expectations:
1. Play an active role on the floor during service hours (2pm -9pm most shifts), assisting with seating, handling table touches with every table for feedback and guest satisfaction. Assist in all levels of service as needed to ensure excellent and remarkable service.
2. Direct communication with the chef and kitchen staff offering guest feedback and helping to control and communicate the flow of covers into the dining room.
3. Train, guide and reinforce the proper techniques of upscale fine dining service with dining room staff members.
4. Have a base knowledge of wine and spirits, and how to sell/upsell them. Use this knowledge to train and assist floor staff.
5. Have a base knowledge of common food items sold in an upscale restaurant, and how to explain and sell/upsell them. Use this knowledge to train and assist floor staff.
6. Manage scheduled staff to ensure all guests are receiving remarkable service throughout the shift and that.
7. Manage scheduled staff to ensure that all opening and closing side work procedures are being completed.
8. Set daily expectations and station assignments for service staff and ensure that their sections and service are meeting restaurant standards.
9. Engage with tables and guests when problems do arise to solve guest satisfaction issues and ensure that guests are departing satisfied and happy.
10. Work to build guest relationships to grow regular guest attendance.
Experience:
1. Must have at least 3 years of fine dining management experience in a “white tablecloth” fine dining setting.
2. Required knowledge of still and sparkling wine sales and table service.
3. Required basic knowledge of bar service techniques and basic drink production.
4. Required knowledge of the steps of service and service techniques in a fine dining setting.
Pay and Benefits:
1. Weekly pay, hourly rate of $22-25/hour negotiable with commensurate experience. Growth potential to higher wages with 6 month and 1-year reviews, followed by yearly reviews.
2. 40 hours of PTO available accrued after 6 months, 80 hours of PTO accrued after 1 year.
