About the Company

Our client, a nationally respected law firm, is seeking a Conflicts Research Analyst to join its growing conflicts team in Columbus, OH. This role plays a critical part in helping attorneys navigate ethical obligations and identify potential conflicts of interest for new matters and lateral hires. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong legal research skills and an interest in compliance and legal ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Define search strategies and perform conflict checks using systems like Intapp or similar
  • Analyze and summarize search results, highlighting risks and recommendations
  • Conduct corporate research to identify affiliations and relationships
  • Draft engagement letters, conflict waivers, and ethical screen memos
  • Collaborate with Conflicts Counsel, Attorneys, and General Counsel
  • Maintain and clean up client/matter records in the conflicts database
  • Provide high-level support to attorneys and legal staff
  • Occasionally support after-hours requests as needed

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of experience in a law firm conflicts department
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of legal ethics and professional responsibility rules
  • Experience with conflict checks, corporate research, or legal intake
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year conflicts experience in a mid-to-large law firm
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with legal ethics and compliance standards
  • Experience conducting conflict checks or corporate research
  • Salary expectations clearly defined
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. (No sponsorship required)
  • Willingness to work hybrid/onsite in Columbus, OH

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Intapp or similar tools
  • Drafting conflict waivers and ethical screen memorandums
  • Experience with large-scale data cleanup or database management
  • Strong legal writing and analytical reporting skills
