Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Helps customers manage their green power journey, which is typically related to solar energy, battery storage, and electric vehicles.
  • Requests come in from many sources including the phone lines, email, social media, website, through municipal leaders and through regulators.
  • The customers are on a green power journey, and we are trying to help the customer wherever they are in that journey, without necessarily having a script for everything that could come up. The contractor educates customers about green power options and corresponding programs/services.
  • Supports and manages the net metering application and enrollment process as it aligns with the legislative requirements. This includes corresponding and interacting with internal and external groups and customers to ensure customer accounts are appropriately assigned to net metering, and that required forms and agreements are completed and returned by the customer

Skills:

  • Customer Service: ability to understand customer perspectives and desire to resolve issues through outstanding, personalized, and empathetic customer service. Demonstrated customer service experience or call center experience will be a consideration.
  • Clean Energy Knowledge or Experience: including knowledge of solar, interconnections, Net Metering, electric vehicles, renewables, battery storage, electric service. Familiarity with these technologies, processes, and regulations including understanding of Illinois and federal clean energy programs and incentives.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (verbal, written, listening): ability to provide effective customer education and communication. Ability to explain technical and complex topics, customized for individual customer understanding. Position includes significant interface with customers via phone, email, and face-to-face.
  • The group uses Microsoft Office tools including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Note, Office 365, One Drive, Windows 11. Candidate should be comfortable using all of these without additional training.

Education/Experience:

  • College graduates preferred. If a candidate has relevant certifications, please highlight them in the resume.
