Shipping Team Member

Department:

Shipping Indiana

Reports to:

Shipping & Warehouse Manager

Job Summary

The shipping department is in charge of preparing the orders for shipment. The materials indicated by the picking ticket are collected, the materials and pallets are checked, that the packages are clean and in good condition. Clean or change boxes or bags if necessary. Ensure that it has the correct weight, in case it is missing, it is completed. The materials that come from other warehouses are reviewed, that they are not infested and that they bring the correct batch numbers and quantity. The work of this shipping area is very important because it is the last filter before the product reaches the customer. That is the reason why it is necessary to be stricter in following the established protocols to guarantee the quality of the product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect products if they are well closed and packaged in good condition

Check that the labels have the correct information as required by the order

Check that the pallets are in good condition

Make sure that the pallets carry the correct quantity and information

Carry out other tasks such as: washing floors, cleaning walls, unloading containers as needed, etc.

Affix new labels when necessary

Collect material for orders

Required Skills/Abilities

Attention to detail

Simple math skills

Education and Experience

High School Diploma (preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to read, communicate, and listen. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires regularly lifting up to 50 pounds per item. Employees will also be responsible for handling full pallets containing multiple units (typically 40–45 units per pallet) and performing repetitive lifting and repalletizing tasks throughout the day, which involves sustained physical effort.
