Midwest Area Sales Director -  Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Michigan.

Company Overview:
Our client has 10+ years of experience as a U.S.-based medical device company. Their non-invasive technologies focus on improving patient outcomes within the orthopedic, spine, rehabilitation, and bone growth stimulation markets.

Job Summary:
Drive growth across the Midwest by leading a high-impact regional sales team focused on orthopedic and spine markets. As the Midwest Area Sales Director, you’ll own assigned regional quota performance, coach both direct and independent sales representatives, and expand existing business while uncovering new opportunities.

Required Skills
  • Ability to operate in alignment with the Company Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all applicable legal, industry, and regulatory requirements for the medical device industry
  • Proven success achieving or exceeding sales goals in a top-performing sales role
  • 3–5 years of medical device or healthcare sales experience, preferably in Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Spine, Rehabilitation, or related specialties
  • Experience managing sales efforts with strong territory and time management skills, including established call frequency standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and hold teams accountable for sales targets
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage regional travel and expenses effectively, including accurate expense records and receipts
  • Capability to build and maintain customer relationships with healthcare professionals (e.g., orthopedic surgeons, physician offices, physical therapy clinics)
  • Comfort providing clinical and technical support, including training programs, customer presentations, and patient fittings
  • Ability to submit regular objectives, action plans, forecasts, and sales projections for the assigned region
  • Must reside within reasonable proximity to a major airport to support frequent regional travel
Nice to Have Skills
  • Previous sales management training, leadership experience, or related coursework
  • Experience recruiting, training, and supporting sales personnel through critical stages of the sales process
  • Experience delivering field coaching and training on product positioning and navigating complex sales cycles
  • Familiarity with building relationships with physicians, key opinion leaders, and national thought leaders in targeted therapeutic areas
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of medical device or healthcare sales experience (preferably within relevant specialties such as Orthopedics, Spine, or Rehabilitation)
Other Requirements
  • 60%–80% routine out-of-state travel expected, with travel planned and managed within budget guidelines
  • Will be responsible for managing regional expenses and sales budgets to achieve growth objectives for NMES and BGS product lines
  • Will collaborate regularly with the Director of Sales on business performance, market conditions, and regional activity
  • May require direct patient interaction during product fittings and training sessions
Compensation & Benefits:
Our client offers a competitive salary of $160k-$175k Base Salary (Flexible/Negotiable DOE), $200k-$225k Total Compensation, comprehensive health benefits, 401k, PTO/Paid Holidays, and significant long-term growth opportunities.
