The Law Offices of Gary A. Reeve is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Research Assistant to join our employment law and civil litigation practice.
Our firm has decades of experience representing employees and individuals in complex legal matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation claims, and appellate litigation. We pride ourselves on thorough legal analysis, strategic advocacy, and a commitment to achieving meaningful results for our clients.
Position Overview:
This role is ideal for a candidate with strong analytical and writing skills who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in litigation and legal research. You will work closely with attorneys on active cases and contribute directly to case strategy, research, and document preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-depth legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases
• Analyze statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to employment law and civil litigation
• Draft legal memoranda, briefs, pleadings, and case summaries
• Assist with appellate filings and trial preparation
• Cite-check and proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance
• Organize, maintain, and review case files and exhibits
• Monitor legal developments and emerging case law relevant to firm practice areas
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required (Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field preferred)
• Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex legal issues
• Familiarity with legal citation formats (Bluebook preferred)
• Experience with legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis)
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Prior law firm, clerkship, or internship experience strongly preferred
