Cannabis Dispensary Agent - Job Description
Position Summary A Cannabis Dispensary Agent is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting patients and customers with cannabis product selections in a compliant and professional retail environment. This role requires strong product knowledge, attention to regulatory compliance, and the ability to create a welcoming and educational experience for all customers.
Key Responsibilities - Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations
- Educate customers on cannabis products including flower, edibles, concentrates, and topicals
- Make product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences
- Process sales transactions accurately using the dispensary POS system
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with restocking shelves and product displays
- Follow all compliance and security procedures required by state cannabis regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and back-of-house areas
- Support inventory counts, product labeling, and intake procedures
- Work collaboratively with team members and management to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications - Must meet minimum age requirement and comply with state cannabis regulations
- Valid cannabis worker permit or license (if required by state)
- Previous retail, customer service, or cannabis industry experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and POS experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-50 lbs when needed
Preferred Skills - Cannabis product knowledge and ability to educate customers
- Experience with cannabis POS systems (such as Dutchie, Treez, or Flowhub)
- Inventory and compliance familiarity with systems like METRC or BioTrack
