Under the direction of the EAU Supervisor I, this position performs a broad range of administrative and legislative support of medium-to-high complexity for the CDFW Executive Office and Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA). Essential functions include updating the bill tracking database to monitor the status of legislation, coordinate with other OLA staff tracking and managing time-sensitive information including Governor’s Office Action Requests (GOAR) OLA submittals, bill analyses assignments, due dates, legislative letters, reports to the Legislature, and legislative hearing dates. Track, cross reference, and update California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) bill assignments in bill tracking database, provide guidance to program staff on the Directors Action Request (DAR) process, and independently analyze legislative bills of low-medium/medium complexity by researching and gathering information from a variety of bill-related resources.
In conjunction with the Business Management Branch (BMB), the incumbent will serve as a Subject Matter Generalist (SMG) to assist in the development, coordination and administration of contracts that are medium-to-high complexity. This includes initiating contracts in the Contract Request Tracking System (CRTS), reviewing contract exhibits for accuracy and completion, partnering with CDFW programs for contract execution procedures including procurement of contracts and purchase orders, and processing invoices in FI$Cal.
Utilizing Power BI and any other resources available, serves as the SMG for budget tracking and reconciliation for assigned executive programs, including the review of labor charges and operating and equipment expenditures. Acts as primary contact for reviewing, editing, and supporting EAU trainings materials including job aids, procedures, and visual aids. Performs backup reception duties upon request.

Incumbent is expected to work during regular business hours 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday with flexibility to work both remotely and in office. Incumbent is expected to work onsite, in the office, a minimum of two business days per week, possibly more, as determined by business needs.
Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Attend meetings and work with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Carry a department issued cell phone and be responsive to management.
