Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to support accounting and administrative operations within a fast-paced construction company located in Poway. This role is temp to hire and will pay up to $26/hour DOE. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, enjoys working with numbers and spreadsheets, and can manage repetitive tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume data entry with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Enter, review, and compare data across multiple reports to ensure consistency and identify discrepancies
- Prepare, compile, scan, and file accounting documents, invoices, reports, and supporting paperwork
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems for financial records and project documentation
- Assist with spreadsheet preparation and reporting using Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and formatting
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions by entering and organizing financial information
- Maintain organized records for vendors, and internal departments
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team including copying, scanning, document tracking, and file management
- Follow company procedures and internal controls to ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance

Qualifications
- Previous experience in an accounting assistant, accounting clerk, or administrative support role preferred
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to review reports and perform basic data validation checks
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
